Hey everyone, and happy 2021! It is Jaena here from the blog team. I know the struggle of finding delicious but healthy things to fit your cravings, whether it be after school lunchtime, etc. but I'm here to give you some quick, easy, and healthy afterschool snacks anyone can make! Let me know down below in the comments if you try any of them out :) 1. Apple Bites![]() The first one is apple bites! This recipe is so simple, you only need 2 ingredients and any toppings you like. Collect however many apples you need, I usually use about 1 since apples are pretty filling, and wash it off. Once it is thoroughly washed, you can use an apple cutter to cut your apples, or cut them with a sharp knife into any shape. You could also take the skin off with a knife, but PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHILE DOING THIS! Put your sliced apples on a plate and then add your desired dip! Some of my favorites are peanut butter, carmel, fruit dip, or nutella! There are also a variety of toppings you coat your apples in such as chocolate chips, nuts, sprinkles, and coconut shreds! 2. Smoothies!![]() The second snack is also a personal favorite, smoothies! There are hundreds of recipes you can use to make smoothies, but another one of my favorites is strawberry banana and mixed berry! Pinterest has amazing recipes for smoothie bowls, so if you are looking for a different flavor I would 100% recommend looking on there or a YouTube channel called “Twin Coast”. Some tips for making any sort of smoothie is to make sure your fruit is frozen, and to not add ice if it is. Oat milk is also amazing for smoothies since it makes it creamy and is a healthier alternative to regular milk. If you are wanting a thick smoothie bowl you only need a little liquid. Make sure you shake up/mix your smoothie after blending for a few seconds so your smoothie is one consistency. Comment below your favorite smoothie recipe for others to try! 3. Chocolate Peanut Butter Bananas (yum!)![]() Chocolate peanut butter bananas is the next amazing snack you need to try! Grab some bananas, 1 whole one probably makes around 10 pieces, and cut them into about ½ inch thick pieces. Grab some peanut butter and add a little onto one side of the banana and sandwich another piece of banana on top! Freeze for about 10 minutes. Then, melt some chocolate chips (milk or dark), in intervals in your microwave being careful to not burn your chocolate! Dip each individual banana sandwich into the melted chocolate, and add onto a freezer safe plate lined with parchment paper. Freeze until the chocolate has completely hardened, and they are amazing! 10/10 recommend! 4. HEALTHY cookie dough![]() Another sweet one, but healthy cookie dough is a great after school snack! It only takes 5 ingredients, and makes about 1 serving size. You will need 4 tablespoons of almond flour, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 1 tablespoons of almond or peanut butter, and 2 tablespoons of milk. Stir thoroughly until it becomes a thick crumbly cookie dough texture. Add in some chocolate chips and you're done! So amazing and healthy as well! 5. Peppers & Cream Cheese![]() To finish off with a viral snack, peppers and cream cheese! You will only need a bell pepper, cream cheese, and everything bagel seasoning (any brand works!) Cut your bell peppers into thick strips, making sure you cut off the top, end, and deseed it. Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on a bell pepper strip and sprinkle some bagel seasoning to top it off. Super simple, healthy, and amazingly good! All of the components of this snack work so well together to give an amazing flavor! That is all I have for this blog post, and I hope you found one healthy recipe you would like to try! There are plenty of substitutions for these recipes so play around with it and find something you like. Thank you all for reading, and I will see you all in my next post! Jaena Nevaeh
